A Good Time

Delete your account

You can delete your A Good Time account at any time, in the app or by email. Deletion is permanent. Nobody can undo it, including us.

In the app

  1. Open A Good Time. On the main screen, the one with the round record button, tap Settings at the bottom.
  2. Scroll down to Account and tap Delete account.
  3. Read what will be deleted, then type the email address you signed in with.
  4. Tap Delete my account.

Your account is deleted immediately and the app signs you out.

Settings is reached from the main screen, which opens once you are linked with someone. If you have not linked with anyone yet, ask for deletion by email instead.

Without the app

If you no longer have the app, or cannot open it, write to christian-hollatz@web.de and ask us to delete your account. Please write from the email address you signed up with, so we can tell that the account is yours.

We delete it without undue delay, and at the latest within one month, and confirm it to you.

What is deleted

  • Your account: email address, display name, password hash, time zone, language and push token.
  • Every session, so every phone signed in to your account is signed out.
  • All your links, including invites that were never used.
  • Every voice note, photo and caption in those links, in both directions, delivered or not. The files are deleted from the server, not hidden.
  • Any password-reset codes.

A link belongs to two people. Deleting your account also deletes what the people you were linked with sent you, and what you sent them, from our server.

What deletion cannot reach

  • Voice notes and photos already downloaded to the other person’s phone.
  • Notifications already shown on their phone.
  • Database backups, which are deleted after about 15 days. They contain captions and account data, but not the voice notes and photos themselves.
  • Entries in the server logs, which are kept as described in the privacy policy.

Only want to stop hearing from someone?

Unlink them in Settings instead. That deletes everything between the two of you, in both directions, and leaves the rest of your account alone. They are not notified.
